This list was donated to me by Robert Deloyde, who extracted it from the committee book
for the Great Barr National school for the period 1856 to 1893.
It gives a glimpse of what life was like for the school in those days.
There is a mention of three schools the Boys, The Girls, & the Addyes School.
This was a charity school in today's modern word they would not be classed as schools
but classrooms because there were not that many children in the schools.
The School was founded in 1856

both playgrounds Needed to be drained, a hedge was to be planted from the
school buildings to the Walsall Rd, To be protected by a diamond larch? Fence
with gates, with a wicket into the girls playground, Furniture was needed for
the school, testimonial were received from a J B Reed for the schoolmaster
Candidate, the salary was to be £70 a year, including coals

to leave the choice of a master meaning of course in conjunction With the
committee the committee thanked her for her kindly consent Notice to be given
to Mr & Mrs Martin, to leave the school and to give up the house on the
25/Mar/1866 Mr Bagnall to find about any government funding for the school
the salary for the master was set at £100 p/a plus the house,
