6 July 1855 In a brief report on his crime, the Shrewsbury Chronicle of Friday 6 July 1855 p.7 col.5 states: HOUSEBREAKING AT WHITCHURCH. – John Heath, 11, and William Arrowsmith, 13, on bail, were charged with breaking and entering the dwelling house of James Hall, at Whitchurch, on the 22nd of May, and stealing a watch and sundry other articles therefrom. The two boys were each sentenced to three weeks imprisonment and at the expiration of that term Heath is to be sent to Kingswood Reformatory for two years, and order being made on his father to pay ninepence a week during that period; and Arrowesmith, at the termination of his imprisonment, is to be sent to the Reformatory at Saltley for two years, and an order was made on his father to pay sixpence a week during that period.
3 June 1857 In a list of ‘disposals’, the Reformatory Minute Book reports that Arrowsmith is in Warwick Gaol for window breaking, and will return 17 Jun.
