Notes:

19 May 1881 Embarked on board the Sarmation for Quebec. Emigrates with Wall [boy 577], Massey [boy 560], and Phillips [boy 562]. Mr Humphreys took them to the boat. The boys are going out to our agent, a Mr Donaldson of Toronto

23 June 1881 Hear through Wall that he has arrived safely at Toronto.

27 June 1881 Shaw writes and informs me that he is employed by Mr Andrew Grant, and is in receipt of 10 dollars a month. His address is c/o Mr Andrew Grant, Danforth, P.O. Ontario, Canada (see letter attached) [no letter attached to Admissions Register]

29 June 1881 Informed Shaw through Massey that I would write him a long letter shortly. Wrote same evening

8 August 1881 Letter from Shaw in which he says he is doing well

3 May 1882 Writes a letter and gives a good account of himself
